On some of the lines, I added and removed anchor points using the Add and Delete Anchor point tool so that the line work would be neater and more accurate. The overlapping lines are readjusted using the ‘Direct Selection Tool’ where I am able to move and adjust the anchor point and convert the anchor point if there are any curves that needs to be readjusted. Since the clothing design are almost symmetrical except for certain overlaps and closures at the center back, I used the ‘Transform’ button and selected ‘Reflect’ after completing half of the garments’ linework to make them symmetrical and also, to complete the line drawing quicker. The bralet is fastened at the center back with a hook and eye whereas the skirt is fastened with an invisible zipper. The denim vest do not have buttons at the front as it is meant to be worn with the front opened. I chose to do one of my outfit designs from the Collection 2: Streetwear which contains three pieces of garments–a bralet, skirt and cropped denim vest. On the ‘Stroke’ window, I selected the rounded edges for the ‘Cap’ and the ‘Corner’ so that the joints and ends of the line would not have sharp edges. The weight of the outline stroke is set to 1pt and the sewing lines are set to 0.25pt, dashed.
Next, the outline of the garment is observed and then, following the lines of the croquis, the outlines of the garments are drawn out using the pen tool.
Once that is done, it would be easier to draw out the technical flat by placing the illustration of the garment next to it.
